Yes, Firefox is already pretty damn fast but did you know that you can tweak it and improve the speed even more?
That's the beauty of this program being open source.
Here's what you do:
Steps to Make Mozilla Firefox Faster
Method 1: Using pipeline
There are simple steps to speedup or boost Mozilla Firefox internet browsing. Each step given with images, just follow these simple steps and enjoy.- In the browser address bar type 'about:config' and press Enter.
- Type 'pipelining' in the search box, as shown below in screenshot.
Double Click on the following settings and put in the numbers below - for the true / false
booleans - they’ll change when you double click.
CODE:
- network.http.pipelining.maxrequests – 8
- network.http.pipelining – true
- network.http.proxy.pipelining – true
Right - click anywhere in the about:config window and click New >> Integer.
Enter nglayout.initialpaint.delay as the name of the integer and for the value make it 0.
See screenshot below.
This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it
receives.
Method 2: Using Speedup Extension
I don’t like a lot of extensions installed in my Firefox browser because theyare also responsible for slowing down the browser, so if you are not using any extension
for long, please disable them. But there are some extension which can make your page load
faster in Firefox.
- Fasterfox: This is an official extension from Mozilla Firefox to “Make your Sites Faster than a Fox for Firefox!” Download the extension from Here
- Speedyfox: Another extension to speed up your browsing. Download the extension from Here
- Betterfox: Another official extension by Mozilla “To make browsing experience 15% faster” as it claims. Download this speed up extension Here
Now you should notice you’re loading pages MUCH faster If only you follow the step then it
will definitely help to increase your browsing speed.
Users can also improve firefox speed by optiming RAM when firefox is minimized and minimize page rendering duration!
