Since the debut of Android Wear in Smartwatch, a number flagship products have entered the market and captivated tech enthusiasts. Two of the commonly spoken about smartwatches are Sony Smartwatch 3 and the Motorola Moto360.
So how do these Smart watches compares
Sony made its announcement of the Smartwatch 3 in early 2014 bringing out an elegant stainless steel appeal to the watch. The Moto360 was released a year and a quarter later in September 2015, as the first smartwatch to feature a round dial with a larger display. It also moved towards making its smartwatch in stainless steel to give it a premium look.Display, RAM and Internal Memory
The Sony Smartwatch 3 display sports 320 by 320 pixel resolution as compared to the Moto360 which has a 360 by 330 pixels. Sony compares better in terms of pixel density as it packs 284 pixels per inch (PPI) whereas the latter comprises of 233 PPI.
In terms of RAM performance, Sony has a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex A-47 processor which fires up 4 GB of internal memory and 512 MB of RAM. The Moto360 gears up a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 which runs with the same processor, RAM and internal memory. Both the devices do not have network connectivity, so they connect with the respective smartphones through a Wi-Fi connection. However, the Sony Smartwatch 3 is capable of 3G connectivity over the Wi-Fi which implied that connectivity would be faster.
Software Features, Peripherals and Other Features
Both the smartwatches boast similar battery power with a stand-by time of 96 hours and a talk-time of 48 hours. The Moto360 has more straps and color options as compared to the Sony Smartwatch 3 which should bring a smile to trendy Smartwatch enthusiast.
Other features that can be used to compare the Smartwatch include the weight, where the Moto360 is lighter and a connectivity feature which allows the device to connect wirelessly. Looking at the price tag of both the products, the Moto360 basic model is available for just under $300 while the Sony Smartwatch basic model ranges at about $270. The price of the both products vary regionally and depending on the carrier, however the price mentioned above is for the carrier-less purchasing.
