Microsoft Windows 10 Reaches 10Million Installs

 The last we heard from Microsoft regarding the recently launched Windows 10 was when the company announced that, nearly after 24 hours of the official launch, Windows 10 had reached 14 million devices, however now a report by Brad Sams for Neowin reveals that the number has now increased up to 27 million.


Windows 10 was launched on 29th July 2015 and the 14 million installs just in a matter of 24 hours indicated how strong the demand of the operating software is, which is a good thing for Microsoft as previously the company announced that it will be aiming to bring Windows 10 to 1 billion devices by the end of 2016. One more factor that would likely result in Windows 10 reaching more over than 50 million devices by the end of this month is that, Microsoft previously announced that all Windows 7 and 8 users will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. This might have just been one of the brightest moves made by the company, however the free upgrade promotion is said to come to an end in July 2016.

Microsoft is also focusing on bridging Windows 10 to the Xbox One consoles starting November 2015, which means by the end of that month, the company might hit the 100 million install mark just in a matter of 3-4 months. There are several features that make the Windows 10 simply the best version of Windows till date, some of these include; the integration of Cortana, an all-new user interface, pre-loaded Microsoft Office 365, live tile start menu and the replacement browser for internet explored dubbed as Microsoft Edge.

In other news regarding Microsoft’s Windows 10, Mozilla CEO Chris Beard just earlier this week criticized the tech giant for making it more difficult for users to make Mozilla FireFox as their default browsers, since Windows 10 comes in with the new Edge Browser as default.
