Just over a week ago, GTA 5, on PC, was reported to experiencing framerate issues after Rockstar rolled out an update for the game. Cries emerged off the gaming community, and the company was quick to react to the situation, acknowledging the problem right away, and a patch was released on Jul 21, 2015 following which normal service seems to have been resumed.
The patch, sized 91MB, is now up for grabs, and Rockstar claims that the single-player mods are likely to be affected the most, following installation. The announcement was led by the company through its community site, claiming that the problems had been taken care of.
After the update was rolled out, a developer said: “We also received some reports linking decreased performance when using Story Mode mods to TU 1.28. As mentioned previously, we are not actively targeting players using mods in Story Mode, nor are we explicitly implementing protections against them in-game.”
Hence, if you are running mods, you may well come across unexpected behavior within the game as the patch, as claimed by the company, is not designed, supported, or tested for players running mods. Moreover, the company has advised gamers, the ones who run mods, to install the patch on their own risks.
Please note that you must be connected to the internet when you start your PC to be able to successfully download, and install the patch.
