Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 Breaks Record For The Biggest Beta On PlayStation 4

The latest addition to the Call of Duty series, Black Ops III, has just broken the record for being the biggest beta on PlayStation 4 after Activision, the publishers, announced earlier today that it was played by millions of people around the world.

The company is yet to give out a precise figure on the number of downloads they saw, Activision claims that Black Ops III Beta had more downloads, gameplay sessions, and total hours of gaming than any other PlayStation 4 beta title.

Adam Boyes, a Sony executive, was on-hands earlier today, speaking in a press release, saying: “"Played by millions of PlayStation fans around the world, the response to the beta was massive and shows the strength when bringing together the best-selling console franchise with the best-selling game console. Signaling an impressive start of a new era for PlayStation and this famed franchise, there was no better way to welcome Call of Duty to its new home on PlayStation 4."

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Beta was available for downloading on PlayStation 4 from August 19 to August 24. On the other hand, Xbox One and PC gamers can still get their hands on the beta, which was put up on August 26 and is scheduled to run through to August 30.

The full game is scheduled for a launch on November 6 around the world on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. Given the response the beta version of the game has gotten, Black Ops III could make history once the full-version gets rolled out, given that the beta only offers a fraction of the experience that the full-game would offer.

Activision has already pointed out that the beta would help the company enhance the gameplay even more once the full version launches, saying: “the beta provided critical feedback and technical data at scale for the Treyarch development team to further fine-tune and polish.”
