Apple iPhone 6S Plus vs Microsoft Lumia 950 XL:– Which One Deserves Your Money?

This fall rains with phablets and in this race, we have two VIPs – the new iPhone 6S Plus and the Lumia 950 XL, which will be unveiled on October 6. Microsoft is hoping to have a hit with its new Lumia devices, but we’ll see if they will have the desired impact. The differences between the iPhones duo and the Lumia duo is that Apple used the same processor for both models, while the larger Lumia 950 XL is more powerful. But, let’s see how the two phablets stack against each other.(check image below)

Displays

The Lumia 950 XL will have a larger screen that the iPhone 6S Plus, which will measure 5.7-inch and will use Samsung’s AMOLED technology, which provides crisper and very vibrant colors, especially that the maximum supported resolution will be QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) with a generous pixel density of 515 ppi. Also, Microsoft has developed its own screen technology, and the ClearBlack display offers a better visual image quality in direct sunlight.

The iPhone 6S Plus is fitted with a 5.5-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD screen which supports a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 401 ppi and it’s protected with an Ion-strengthened glass, but the novelty is the 3D Touch technology, which senses the pressure you’re applying to the screen, and it allows you to preview content (“peek”) or view the entire content (“pop”). As for the contrast and colors, they’re perfectly balanced and don’t eat the battery very fast.

Hardware

The Lumia 950 XL will be packed with a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa core processor (possibly version 2.1) which will have four cores clocked at 1.5GHz and four cores clocked at 2GHz. The processor will be paired with Adreno 430 to deliver a perfect gaming experience (hopefully, it will no longer have heating issues) and 3GB of RAM, which will be sufficient for running Windows 10 Mobile OS perfectly. Unfortunately, there is only one variant of internal memory and its capacity is good enough (32GB), support for microSD expansion.

The iPhone 6S Plus uses the new Apple A9 dual-core 1.84 GHz processor which is between 70 and 90 percent faster than the previous A8. Apple claims that the new processor is more energy efficient and the new software (iOS 9) brought a new low power mode which extends the battery life. The RAM capacity is now double, but the internal storage is available in the same three variants of 16/64/128 GB.

Cameras

The Lumia 950 XL will have a 20MP PureView rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics, IS, dual-LED flash, autofocus, 1/2.5” sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size and will shoot vides in 2160p resolution at 30fps. The secondary camera will support a resolution of 5MP and will be very useful for taking selfies and for making video calls.

Apple improved both cameras of the iPhone 6S/6S Plus, and now, they support 12MP and 5MP respectively. The main camera comes with OIS, dual-LED flash and records 4K videos, while the front camera has support for HDR.

Batteries

The Lumia 950 XL will be powered by a battery with a capacity of 3300mAh, but we can’t estimate how long it will last.

The iPhone 6s Plus has a 2,915 mAh unit which should last an entire day under normal use.
