The Top Five Xbox One Games

Despite being out for only two years, the Xbox One already has a diversified library with several exclusives. Moreover, by the end of this year, the library will comprise of quality titles like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5 Guardians and Fable Legends. The upcoming indie title Cuphead, also carries a lot of promise with itself.

The Xbox One is on its way to sell a lot more units than previous years, this is mainly due to the amazing line of upcoming exclusive games, Windows 10 integration, Oculus Rift support and Windows cross play. Therefore, before you pick up a console, make sure you purchase these five must own games on the Xbox One.

Sunset Overdrive

Developed by Insomniac Games, Sunset Overdrive is a rather different take on modern video games. It features a cartoonish style and doesn’t shy away from mocking modern video games. It allows you to make your own character and it features every possible customization, for example, your character could be a petite female with a long beard.

The game features some of the best traversal ever featured in video games, and is unfortunately one of the most underrated games of recent years. Nonetheless, Sunset Overdrive is a game you cannot afford to overlook.

Halo The Master Chief Collection

Halo is without a doubt the most iconic Xbox franchise. It is hard to imagine what Xbox would be without Halo, and 343 Industries did a great job with what is the definite Master Chief collection. The game features campaigns from all 4 Halo games; it also features an anniversary edition Halo 2. The series had a rather dodgy launch with multiplayer issues that persist to this day. However, for newcomers, it is the best way to play through Master Chief’s entire saga, and for veterans, it is a wonderful collector’s item.

Halo The Master Chief Collection also featured a multi-player beta for the upcoming Halo 5 Guardians. The beta ended in January but it provided 343 with enough feedback to make the right amendments.

Forza Motorsport 6

Forza Motorsport 5 was an amazing game, one which sets the bar for racing simulators. However, Forza 6 is a massive improvement on its predecessor and it brings by a ton of new features. The game features more than 400 cars which is astonishing to say the least. The graphics of the game are unparallel and no other game comes close to the level of detail Forza 6 provides.

Forza 6 is for hardcore racing simulator fans, people who are looking for light hearted action, must opt for Forza Horizon 2 which features some crazy mechanics and events that may not be possible in Forza Motorsport 6.

Rare Replay

Rare Replay is undoubtedly the best collection of games ever released. It celebrates Rare’s prestigious 30 year history by providing fans with 30 renowned Rare titles. The titles that the game features come from all eras, including the 80’s and the current HD era.

The game also features several challenges and mini games, and it provides players with enough backing to tackle difficult games like Battletoads. Rare Replay is a fine collection that encompasses 30 years’ worth of history in one package, and it was released for an astonishingly low price of $30.

EA Access

It may not be a game, but it is a subscription you simply cannot ignore. At $5 a month, EA Access provides consumers with more than 10 games, from a wide range of genres to download for free. Most of these games are sports games, meaning you can play games like Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15, NHL 15 and NBL Live 15 for free. However, it also features games like Titanfall, Battlefield 4, Plants vs Zombies and more recently Dragon Age Inquisition.

Titanfall is one of the most fun FPS games around. Sure, it may not provide enough modification to keep you going, however, its gameplay alone is enough to get you hooked for over 100 hours. It was the pioneer of wall running and other similar movement techniques. On the other hand, Battlefield 4 provides classic gun simulator action along with an action packed story mode.

The more recent release, Dragon Age Inquisition, is the sequel to Dragon Age 2 and is one of the vastest RPG’s of all time. It was the winner of several Game of the Year awards making it a must-play game.

The Xbox One has a lot coming this year, therefore, these are just the tip of the iceberg, the real fun begins next year when games like Scalebound, Quantum Break and Rise of the Tomb Raider will release.
